Unknown - “Tughra insignia of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent”, c. 1555-1560
Art reproduction on canvas in a “Lychorida” frame
In this version, the „Tughra insignia of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent“ appear as an impressive symbol of Ottoman rule and calligraphic art. The Tughra, the Sultan’s artfully intertwined name and symbol of sovereignty, combines political authority with the highest artistic precision. Lines, arcs and ornamental clusters come together to form a composition that is at once writing, symbol and image. Even without a known artist, the work points to a courtly culture in which calligraphy played a central role and power was not merely named but visibly shaped.
The reproduction measures 56 × 48 cm and is executed on Leonardo (satin) canvas. The satin finish faithfully reproduces the fine lines, decorative details and serene depth of the original. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and extended in a mirrored pattern at the sides, giving the edges of the image a seamless appearance.
The work is framed in the classic “Lychorida” decorative frame in black with a light brown recess and gold edging. Measuring 45 mm in width and 36 mm in height, the frame provides a clear, dignified setting for the calligraphic composition. A hook-and-eye hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
