Wassily Kandinsky - “In Grey”
Art reproduction on canvas in a “Friedegarde” frame
In this version, Wassily Kandinsky’s ‘In Grey’ appears as a multi-layered composition balancing dissolution, tension and inner movement. Shapes, lines and fields of colour float in an open pictorial space without coalescing into a fixed representational form. Kandinsky, one of the most important pioneers of abstract art, sought in such works a visual language that no longer drew on visible objects, but rather on rhythm, sound and spiritual impact. In this context, grey does not become a void, but rather a mediating space in which colours and forms relate to one another.
The reproduction measures 60 × 44 cm and is executed on Leonardo (Satin) canvas. The satin-finished surface faithfully renders the subtle colour gradations, the graphic lines and the serene depth of the composition. The motif is mounted on a stretcher frame and framed in black on the sides. In addition, a 3 cm wide white border frames the image and gives it a clear boundary.
The work is set within the classic ‘Friedegarde’ decorative frame in black. At 15 mm wide and 14 mm high, the frame remains slim and understated. A screw-mounted serrated hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
