Art print on Canvas glossy, 80cm x 77cm, stretched on stretcher.
A famous painting from Monet's garden in Giverny, which he lived in since 1893, when he started selling more pictures. For the care of his water lilies he employed his own gardener. The bridge was built on the Japanese model. It stands at the center of the picture and serves as a harmonious contrast to the intermingling green tones, the hazy reflections in the water and the hanging branches of the weeping willow on the left side of the picture. The gentle arch of the bridge replaces the missing horizon and at the same time lends structure and expanse to the picture. Monet painted more than 250 pictures of his water lilies. This is also part of a series with a bridge and one of the most famous motifs of his Impressionist creative period from 1868. Monet bought exotic plants for his water lily garden and combined the different flower colors so that a vibrant glow emanates from the water. Reeds and irises border the pond and point up to the bridge. A harmonious ensemble of nature and culture. © Meisterdrucke
