Johann Moritz Rugendas - “Rio Jnhomerim”
Art reproduction on canvas in the “Amelie” frame
In this version, Johann Moritz Rugendas’ “Rio Jnhomerim” appears as a tranquil landscape view, in which observation of nature and travel experiences are intertwined. The motif depicts a river scene in Brazil, whose banks, vegetation and expanse are captured with a keen eye. Rugendas, a 19th-century German artist, became particularly well-known for his depictions of South America. His works captured landscapes, people and flora, combining a documentary interest with a painterly conception of the foreign and the distant.
The reproduction measures 57 × 48 cm and is executed on Salvador (Matt) canvas. The matt surface enhances the subdued colour tones and the graphic clarity of the motif. The painting is mounted on a stretcher frame and has a black border on the sides. In addition, the image features a 3 cm wide white border that visibly frames the composition.
The work is framed by the classic “Amelie” decorative frame in black and gold. With a width of 18 mm and a height of 26 mm, it creates a narrow, high-contrast frame. A screw-mounted serrated hanging mechanism discreetly completes the design.
