The triptych "The garden of lusts" by the Dutch renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch consists in the original of four pictures on a hinged panel. The two outer wings (as the only image not part of the art print) show in the closed state of the world on the third day of creation. The left inner wing is the garden of Eden. The middle panel creates a picture of paradise or God's new world at the end of time, which is characterized by a both peaceful and joyful cohabitation of humans and animals. In sharp contrast to this is the right outer wing, on which Bosch immortalized the horrors of hell. All three images are a detailed and imaginative mix of secular elements, biblical motifs and bizarre creations by the artist himself combined with an ironic touch.
