They might be reminiscent of snakes, perhaps of branches, thoughts, or something entirely different. Nothing is clear-cut – and that, for me, is precisely where the appeal lies.rnThe forms seem like something that belongs to this woman and yet appears alien at the same time. They could represent thoughts, experiences, inner stirrings, or everything that develops within us over the course of a lifetime and takes on a form of its own.rnThe bold black lines give the individual forms their outline. They separate – and in doing so, simultaneously create a connection between everything that coexists in this picture.rnPerhaps the woman does not simply depict a face or a person. Perhaps she depicts the complexity of being human: that which is visible, and that which eludes our clear categorisation.rnFor what we recognise also depends on how we look.rnOne person sees snakes.rnAnother sees growths.rnYet another might see thoughts, fears, strength or something entirely of their own.rnAnd perhaps an image does not need to explain what it is at all.rnPerhaps it is simply allowed to trigger something within us.rn
