In the Revelation of John chapter 6, verses 7 and 8, it says, "And when the fourth seal opened, I heard the voice of the fourth being say, Come! And I saw, and behold, a pale horse. And he who sat on it whose name was death, and hell went with it. "With hell, here is not the place of punishment, that is, the tartaros, but the sheol, that is, the neutral underworld, in which all the dead rise meant to wait for the end times. Death itself, as the fourth rider of the Apocalypse (ancient Greek for "revelation"), leads the realm of the dead into battle against the living.
