The "Fragments" series navigates the tension between figurative drawing and contemporary cubism. The starting point is the classical portrait, which is fragmented by geometric compositions, colour fields and deliberate omissions. In keeping with Cubist image concepts, the face is not understood as a closed unit, but as an interplay of multiple perspectives, levels and states of perception. Line, surface and colour appear side by side on an equal footing. The visible pencil lines remain part of the composition and make the creative process consciously legible. This creates an image space between construction and emotion, between order and dissolution. Each work in the series represents an independent fragment – together they form a visual exploration of identity, gaze and inner movement.
