The image "Child with Nimbus" shows how Schiele begins to develop his own style. The child's coat is dotted with flowers that are very evenly distributed and regularly drawn. These are typical features of the Art Nouveau that Klimt taught him. One can see from the pattern of the coat how much he was inspired by Klimt, one could almost think that these flowers are directly from Klimt. But even if the then 18-year-old Schiele was still influenced by his teacher, one also recognizes influences of Schiele's style. If you look at the flower meadow, you can see that it is irregular, as one is used to from Schiele. The background and the nimbus, which could also be a sun, is vague and indefinable. It is fascinating how one sees in a single picture how much Schiele Klimt admires and yet tries to break away from him and find his own style.
