The Truderl picture frame is a minimalist, modern choice for contemporary art. Its 20-millimetre-wide and equally high frame consists of a wooden core with an oak veneer. The untreated raw wood displays a fine, natural grain in a light brown hue. As the surface remains matt, it absorbs light gently without creating glare or competing with the artwork. The profile has a linear design: a flat, narrow visible surface lies over the recessed rebate, forming a clean edge towards the artwork. This construction provides a distinct border for works on paper whilst remaining visually understated. It follows in the tradition of minimalist gallery profiles, as used since the Modernist era, particularly for prints, photography and works presented in a straightforward manner. From a market perspective, we recommend Truderl above all for numbered editions, high-quality art prints and contemporary originals on paper. Thanks to its uncomplicated natural wood finish, it works just as well in the upmarket mass market, particularly for series and larger picture walls. It looks its best when the artwork itself features clean surfaces or muted colours. We particularly like it with minimalist prints and understated landscape photography.
