Painting Frames "Adeline" |

| Adeline is a slim, two-tone wooden frame in which black and anthracite blend harmoniously. The wooden profile is constructed in multiple layers, which gives it a stable shape despite its modest width. At 20 mm wide and 25 mm high, the frame appears slender, yet reveals a surprisingly pronounced depth when viewed from the side. We particularly like the stepped design: The picture is set against a slightly rounded, raised edge; behind this, the profile dips into a narrow black groove and tapers off at the outer edge into a flat strip. This stepped design draws the eye to the artwork, whilst the dark recess creates a subtle shadow line. The design follows in the tradition of minimalist 20th-century gallery frames. Such clearly structured profiles were often used to frame photographs, prints and modern paintings precisely, without overloading their composition. The brushed surface bears traces of silver and antique silver. They stand out more clearly in oblique light, whilst from the front they retain a subtle metallic sheen. We particularly recommend Adeline for black-and-white photography or graphic works with bold lines. It looks its best when the image features clear contrasts or cool colour tones. |
