Xavier Rugiens (rugiens.fr) was born and lives in Tours. His daily routine consists of organising information in the matrix. On the other side of the matrix, and in no particular order, he likes to work in his vegetable garden, meditate in zazen, read in the shade of a cherry tree, entertain his friends and toast an old Chinon. He has been writing poetry for a very long time, but black short stories for barely two years. He sees himself as a philosopher or cook of words, rather than an author. He likes to simmer the ingredients of the great cauldron of detective fiction: the offbeat, the empathetic and the gritty. His writing is jubilant, and he sometimes even laughs alone in front of his screen. When asked why he writes, he replies that the "whys" are always very mysterious and that he prefers the "hows": he watches himself pedalling, which is much easier than wondering why he's riding the bike.rn
