Alexandra Higgins is an artist based in Mayfield NY, Adirondack Mountains. Her work for the past 30 years has been based around one theme called “roots” which is about the garden, plants, flowers, women, the physical work involved in gardening, and a combination of these. Alexandra is an oil painter, mixed media artist, singer/songwriter and gallery owner of “Window to the Garden.” Her latest work is part of a series developed from an original concept—capturing light in the woods. Drawing inspiration from photographs taken at different times of the day, she interprets the interplay of light, color, and nature through her unique artistic lens. Alexandra's approach combines bold, vibrant colors with many layers of oil paint and mixed media to create visually striking pieces. Her floral, landscape and portrait paintings all reflect aspects of the garden.
