| Ornaments taken from the Baroque period decorate the painting frame Alfreda. The color, which is called black in this frame of the Sofia series, comes close to an anthracite, which looks almost like old silver in the overall view. This makes Alfreda a very special frame with a decorative character. White, gray and even silvery colored elements were added to the anthracite and given a matt surface structure. While the dark color has been given space below the ornaments, the lighter effects, as if applied with a sponge, can be found on the decorative elements and on the narrow strips inside and outside. At the upper edge there is a narrow double bar, while three more narrow ones of this type are arranged towards the inside of the picture, a slightly curved one, a straight vertical and a delicate end bar. The main part is made up of the wide middle border, on which arabesques cause a sensation. Tendrils rotating around their own axis form a round structure. These carved sections are lined up closely together and together form the huge ornamental border. This pushes itself into the room from above at an angle of about 30 degrees and thus reinforces the plastic impression. |
