Wassily Kandinsky is considered the inventor of abstraction and an outstanding representative of modern art. The connections between form and color were the main components of his artistic thinking. The work "Yellow, Red, Blue" was created in 1925 and dates from the time in which he taught at the Bauhaus. He attributed a geometric shape to each color, which was later considered typical of the teachings of the Bauhaus, where he taught from 1922 to 1933. Kandinsky wanted to express in his works "the spiritual in art" and reflect in his works an "inner-inner" experience, instead of depicting the external view of reality. Kandinsky was born on December 16, 1866 in Moscow. He co-founded the editorial department of the Blaue Reiter with Franz Marc and in 1924 founded the artist group Die Blaue Vier, which also included Paul Klee and Lyonel Feininger. His largest collections are those of the Guggenheim Museum New York, the Center Georges Pompidou and the Municipal Gallery in Lenbachhaus Munich. © Meisterdrucke
